All around okay, but nothing special

We booked a superior room, nothing superior about it. All around very well cleaned, but carpet has stains, and bathroom has broken/missing tiles, so it does not look very clean. The bathroom door opened right next to the bed, which I feel is a little weird, usually in hotels its by the entrance, so it does not spread light into the room at night. Outside electrical curtains only worked on one window in our room (302). All around an okay experience, nice staff easy check-in/check-out. Biggest upside was the location of the hotel, very easy to get around with public transport and by walking. Beds were comfortable. Biggest downside was the hotel both our room and hallways did not feel very clean due to spots etc on the carpet, although they may very well have been properly vacuumed.

Have been staying at Select Hotel Gendarmenmarkt Berlin for 3 nights. In summary, this is not a hotel I can recommend. Checking in took terrible long time. The room we hade have no electrical outlets for charging the phone close to the bed. The beds does not even have bedside lamps. The ventilation was not good either. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the cleaning system. If you put "please do not disturb" outside the door during the day, you'll get free drink. We never saw anyone in the the hotel reception smile. Not one time. They are not even trying to be polite. We stored our luggage there for some few hours after checking out. Got a ticket to deliver, to get our luggage back. But they lost the ticket on our luggage, so our ticket was not worth anything. We had to open the luggage in the reception to prove it was our. Not so much as a slight regret that they messed it up. Will also mention the lift. It is veeeeery slow. And it is not working well. We love Berlin, We will come back. But never to this hotel.

Terrible. I was here for the marathon this weekend and while it is close to the start line and for friends to watch the race our experience was terrible. The maid forgot to make our room one day so we had to go down to the lobby to get the items to make it ourselves only they didn’t know what blankets were what. This fiasco lasted almost an hour with multiple trips downstairs. Ice doesn’t exist here. The state of the room and property are NOTHING like the photos. Expect things to be more outdated. Beds are so uncomfortable. Reception staff does not want to help you. They will make you feel like you are bothering them. At the end of the day this hotel isn’t worth it for they are charging.

We definitely didn’t like the attitude of the staff in the reception. First of all, we’ve booked the trip through the website and became a member of the Hotel to get some discount. I then got a total price and booked the room and got the opportunity to pay at the arriving. They just took 10€ extra which I don’t know the reason for. The man in the reception just said it was some sort of taxes, which I don’t get, as the price I’ve reserved for was a total price. Besides that, we’ve waited a lot before we could check in because he, when welcoming us, was busy with some other stuff too, and was always tryna assist more people at the same time so he constantly walked from one to another, which just didn’t worked, as we had everything ready. The same thing happened when we came back to get ur luggage some couple of hours after we’ve checked out. Furthermore the house holding staff didn’t even knock on the door in the morning. They just unlocked the door and talked to us (asking if we wanted cleaning) without even giving us the chance to let them in. That was very inappropriate. We’ve booked the Comfort Room, and the bathtub was also leaking the water, so we constantly had to fill it up, and couldn’t really enjoy having one in the bathroom. The breakfast was also definitely not worth the money.

Excellent hotel so centeral to all tourist sites ,near subway Station which we took to airport costing very little.The staff were excellent go out of their way to be helpful .The bedroom was spacious for three of us to adults and younger person ,comfortable beds.I would recommend this hotel and will be returning soon
